The Lambeth Palace gatehouse known as ‘Morton’s Tower’ (c. 1490). The controversial humanist Sir Thomas More lived here from age 12 to 14 when serving as a page in the Archbishop of Canterbury’s household. Today the porters still operate out of their original quarters off the passageway inside the little door that you can see at the bottom of the photo.
